If you guys still remember, couple of weeks ago, I wrote about Kygo’s new single, Raging, featuring Kodaline. And, yesterday, the Norwegian DJ and record producer Kygo just released his debut album, Cloud Nine, in Norway.

The album consist of 15 amazing tracks. I use an amazing word because I’m a fan of piano melody and this album is totally indulgent anyone who love the tune of a piano. Aside from working with Kodaline, Kygo also work with other musicians, like James Vincent McMorrow, Tom Odell, John Legend, Angus & Julia Stone, Foxes, and more. A little sharing story, to be honest, I have no idea who Kygo is at first. Kodaline is the one who catch my attention when he released his single, Raging. Besides, remix and DJ thing isn’t really my cup of tea. But, after listening to the track, I just couldn’t kick the melody out of my mind. The piano part is so enchanting that I began to pay attention to Kygo’s work. Later, I found out that he is also work with James Vincent McMorrow, another musicians that I love, for his single, I’m in Love. After that, all I know is that I have to anticipate the day he brings his album out. Now, I’m glad to found out that Cloud Nine proves my intuition right. So, if you want to surprise yourself today, do yourself a favor, take a listen to Kygo’s debut album, Cloud Nine, now!
My best friend and also my partner in this music blog introduced me to this song two days ago when I feel so low. As usual, she doesn’t gave me the title and let me guess the title of the song and who sing it. When the first time I heard Spirits by The Strumbellas, I straight to like it. Spirits has a catchy melodies and somehow this song makes me more calm. Since then, I often found myself singing alone to this song. Another exciting news in the beginning of May. This time the great news come from indie electro-pop band from Los Angeles, Scavenger Hunt. Since their last EP Wildfire which already released on 2015, Jill Lamoureux and her friends finally come back with their new music project called Scavenger Mixtape – Covers Vol.1 (’81–’97). This mixtape was released on Soundcloud in May 5th 2016. Scavenger Mix-tape is an incredible selection of 80’s and 90’s hits from so many legendary singer and band like Ace of Base, Sophie B. Hawkins, Roxette, Madonna, Prince, and Donna Lewis. All these songs is packed with a beautiful and smooth voice from Jill Lamoureux as one of a wonderful mixtape. They also made a new and nice music arrangement for each song and make it more refreshing for us to remember those songs.
These 35:29 minutes mixtape is include 19 hit songs. Lamoureux collaborate with One Odd Fellow as a DJ Mix and Dan Mufson as a producer. Here the track listing and enjoy the mix-tape:

You may or may be not already heard this catchy song with a witty lyrical, called Hide Away. If you already heard that song, maybe there’s a “click” voice in your head when you read the tittle, yes? But, if you haven’t, after reading this article you probably want to check her Spotify right away 🙂
Her? Yes, Daya–pronounced as Day-uh–is a stage name of Grace Martine Tandon, a female singer, songwriter, and record producer from Pennsylvania, USA. She just released her self-titled debut EP last September. There are six songs in the EP, which are Thirsty, Legendary, U12, Sit Still, Look Pretty, Hide Away, and Back To Me.

Now, if you ask me what makes me put Daya in our Most Anticipated musician for this month is, my answer will be because of her witty yet simple lyrics–she uses common brands, take a listen Thirsty, to create a metaphor–meet with up beat catchy tunes, typical electro-pop one. So, first of all, it will be hard to stop your self sing along with her when you heard her song. Second, Daya doesn’t jump into music world without arms. Her high pitch voice is quite different from others female singer, powerful and has her own signature. Besides, she’s also capable in playing music instruments, like piano, guitar, ukulele, even saxophone.
Though in her first EP, love become the main theme and, maybe because she’s 17 years old, older listener will consider her love song as a teenage love songs, I still think we have to listen to her EP thoroughly. Because what? Cause, I think every woman will agree with her song Sit Still, Look Pretty. It’s like an anthem to help us declare that though we need love, doesn’t mean we will be happily descend ourselves just to get a man or letting our dream fly away. And I bet Hide Away will get a nod from every woman. So, I think if Thirsty, Legendary, or U12 will quite surely win teenager’s heart, the rest of the songs, including Back To Me will win everyone. That is why I consider Daya as our Most Anticipated musician for this month.

April is definitely an awesome month. Yes, again and again, so many awesome musicians just released their brand new single in the last week of April. I’m getting so excited knowing what will happen in the next few months. I think there will be some great albums are going to be released. So, are you excited as I am? Ingrid Michaelson
Hell No..?! No.. Hell Yes!!! Finally, one of my favorite American singer-songwriter, Ingrid Michaelson, has returned with her brand new single called Hell No. This single was released in April 29th 2016 with music video made entirely on Snapchat by Michaelson herself. Michaelson also written this single and collaborate with Barry Dean and Luke Laird. I totally LOVE this song since the first time I heard it. Hell No is a cheerful and very catchy song although it’s a kind of general ode to breakups. But, once again, Michaelson never lost his touch to make a great music and makes everyone sing along with her whenever you listen to this song. Is it a sign for her next album will come very soon? Well, it’s been two years since her last awesome album Lights Out which sold 37.000 copies in its first week was released in 2014. Definitely can’t wait to hear her new album. So, while we wait, why don’t you try to listen her new single called Hell No. Well, I’m so sure you will say Hell Yes! to this song. Enjoy the music! 🙂
Ash Koley
Well.. well.. It looks like there’s another musician already made their come back moment with their great new single after years. Yes, Canadian alternative pop band, Ash Koley, just unveiled their brand new song called Dangerous Words in April 29th 2016. Dangerous Words is an upbeat and very catchy song. Definitely something that really worth to be heard. We can’t hardly wait to hear Ash Koley’s new album. Zealyn
Another new music also come from American singer-songwriter, Zealyn. After released two singles Talk: Listen and Sleep On It, Zealyn a.k.a Angie Miller just released her brand new single called Limbic System featuring JMR. Speaking on the track, Zealyn says:
“When I researched exactly what the Limbic System was, the portion of our brain that controls our emotions, I was fascinated by how there is a part of my body that I never knew existed and that I can’t live without. In this song, the Limbic System is a metaphor for the thing in our life that we can’t live without, and that gives us purpose.”
The fact is this song already influence my limbic system to feel so happy, thrilled, and calm when I listened to this song. The vocal assist from JMR also give me chills and make the whole song so beautiful. I think you have to try to listen her new single too and tell us how this song influence your limbic system. And don’t forget, Zealyn’s forthcoming debut album is predict to be released on June 2016. Now, enjoy the song!

Last but not least, we have news from the most anticipated singer from Australia, Gordi. Yupp, Gordi a.k.a Sophie Payten is back with her new single called Wanting for her upcoming EP Clever Disguise. This song was released after her debut single Can We Work It Out which already released weeks before. But for now, this song only can be heard for those who lived in Australia and New Zealand. It makes me feel so envy actually. But, I already heard the sneak peek from Triple J’s website and it sounds so great. Once again, Gordi definitely win our hearts and our ears. There’s something just so right about Wanting that makes me want to play this song again and again. The combination between Gordi’s vocals, sound of guitar, awesome rhythm, and great chorus makes me so thrilled about this song. Definitely something that really worth to be heard. I hope this song will be released worldwide very soon. Gordi’s upcoming EP Clever Disguise will released in May 13th 2016.
